1. Who are your top 3 influences?
Tyler: The Story So Far, Fall Out Boy, A Day To Remember
Bob: Blink-182, The Story So Far, A Day To Remember
2. What was it like shooting the music video for ‘Complacent’?
T- Nick & Corey from Beyond Elusive are great friends & I know they genuinely enjoy our music so we all had fun with it!
B- Very fun but also very tiring. We shot it at night and by the end of the night everyone was exhausted.
3. How did you all meet?
B: We’ve all been friends for quite awhile actually. I’ve known Sasquel since kindergarten. Ivan I met through the neighborhood (he lived a few blocks away), and Tyler started coming around and playing music with us in the neighborhood when we were all like 10.
T: When I met Bob he was jamming Holiday by Green Day on his front porch! I was able fire up the other guitar in time for the sweet solo!
4. What was your song writing process for the ‘Losing Sleep’ EP?
B: Tyler wrote “Complacent” on his own. The other 3 we kind of got a base for just practicing together and coming up with riffs. Tyler wrote all the lyrics for the EP.
T: Usually we come up with a riff and loose structure and I’ll take it home and piece together a demo and we’ll build on it from there as a band.
5. What do you hope your new EP will achieve?
B: Just want to get our music out to as many people as we can and have them enjoy it as much as I do. I love our music and I wanna share that with everyone else.
T: What B said!
6. First gig experience?
T: We definitely weren’t as prepared as we should have been! It went well though, except for the intro track we pieced together the night before the show. That was a pretty awkward start.
B: We played at Burlington Bar last year and it was a lot of fun. We had a lot of friends come out and support, it was a blast.
7. Biggest challenge so far?
B: I’d say our biggest challenge is just everyone staying on the same page with everything. Sometimes it’s difficult to take four different personalities, try and mash them into one, and agree on everything all the time. There’s always going to be difference of opinion in certain areas. I think we work through it pretty well though, and stay as positive about things as we can.
T: Working around schedules. We all work full time and different shifts so it can be difficult coordinating all the time but we do our best!
8. Favourite thing about performing live?
T: Connecting with the crowd for sure! Hearing our friends scream the lyrics back at us. We love that shit.
B: Just moving around really getting into the songs! Sometimes when you play live and everyone’s really on point you get this ice running through your veins and you can really feel the music. That is maybe my favorite feeling in the world, and that’s why I love playing live and just jamming in general.
T: Damn, Bobby, you got deep with this one.
9. Favourite song to perform live?
T: Gotta say, mine is “Down to Earth” It’s one of those songs that really gets the crowd going. The four on the floor kick drum beat at the beginning gets people clapping along right away. It also doubles as my least favorite to practice cause them vocal harmonies aren’t easy haha.
B: My favorite song to perform is an unreleased song entitled TAST. It’s very high energy, and it’s just one of my favorite songs of all time.
10. What inspired your songs for the ‘Losing Sleep’?
T: Lyrically, A lot of it came from internal struggles that we go through in life, involving stuff like mental health & relationships. Personally, I was in a darker place when I penned most of those lyrics. Our newer stuff is actually much lighter and positive.
B: A number of things, but I think mainly just our love for music. When the whole band gets a new song down and you’re all playing it well in sync, it’s a very cool and accomplished feeling.
11. What do you do when you’re not musically involved?
B: I love skateboarding, watching tv, and just going out with my friends. I’m very big into baseball and football as well. Go Cubs and Go Bears!
T: I practice horticulture & pretty much spend the rest of my time playing or writing music. What’s a social life anyway?
12. In your opinion, what is your best song?
T: Down to Earth seems to be resonating well with most people. My personal favorite fluctuates though.
B: I think Down to Earth is our best song because I believe it will appeal to the most amount of people. It’s not necessarily my favorite, but all around I think it’s the best and most versatile.
13. Who has the worst dress sense?
T: We all dress pretty dapper so…
B: Definitely Tyler! Lol I actually like the way we all dress, but Tyler gets a little crazy with his jackets sometimes (see complacent video).
T: No Regrets. That jacket is baller!
14. Funniest show story?
B: I don’t know if it’s as funny as it is scary, but I had a major problem with my car when we had a show that was in Barrington (about a 40 minute drive from us) and I had to drive there and back going about 45 miles an hour on the highway. The funny thing is I saw Sasquel pass me in his car going about 70 and it took me like another hour to get there.
T: Refer to the first show question about the awkward intro song we attempted.
15. Pizza! What topping do you all have?
T – Veggies all the way for me.
B- I like sausage and bacon!
16. Who is the most annoying member?
B: Are you trying to break our band up? Lol probably me cuz I’m always late.
T: Definitely Me lol.
17. Who has the worst tattoo?
B: Ivan with his little writing on his chest lol.
T: Gonna bite my tongue on this one.
18. Fast forward and you’re millionaires. What do you do with the money?
T: Give back to my family & then bring warped tour back probably.
B: Buy my childhood house back. I grew up in that house and all the band members know it very well! We had great times there. I’d love to be able to buy it one day.
