Band Of The Week – Ready Steady Steroids

Ready Steady Steroids is a Canadian pop-punk duo hailing from Barrie, Ontario consisting of Alex Vigneault (guitars) and David Emond (vocals/guitars). They first began recording self produced demos and EPs in 2016. It was at this time the band released their hit gym related music video parody of Kelly Clarkson’s “Behind These Hazel Eyes”, as “Behind These Massive Thighs”. Both being in intensive post-graduate programs, the band had only written and recorded a few EPs as a hobby, and did not release their first full length production until the fall of 2018. “Homebound” was released in September of 2018 and included some more heavy hitters including a cover of the famous Backstreet Boys tune “Larger Than Life”. They then followed up with their single “Karma” which followed suit in success and popularity. Since the release, the band has been on steady rotation on some of Spotify’s top Pop-Punk playlists, and have had radio play in the UK and in the United States.

With a growing fanbase, and early success on streaming platforms, the duo are set to release their second full-length production, ‘Dear Outsiders’, very soon. Singles have been released including Curtain Call, Self-Destruct and Freeze Frame, and can be found on all streaming platforms. The band is only looking up from here!
