Review – The Call (ZERO ZERO)

The Call – Zero Zero

4 piece alternative rock outfit Zero Zero drop their brand new single ‘The Call‘ and doing so really demonstrates an ability to write a catchy and bouncing rock song.

The first thing that strikes you when listening to The Call was the fantastic vocal ability demonstrated by the lead singer which really brings life to the track and adds that sense of character which can seriously lack from a great deal of current music.

These vocals were only complimented by the very tasteful production, which was primarily backed with live instrumentals and had some fantastic sprinkles of what sounds like a drum machine which was really refreshing to hear.

But honestly the thing that really holds the track together are the instrumentals, they uplift this song so much while adding that really thick sound inspired by artists such as Royal Blood and Muse which really place Zero Zero in that catalogue of artists. This thick sound is seen in the guitar solo and certain drumming sections which while taking inspiration from such artists don’t borrow too much and keep The Call at arms length for it to be its own track.

At the heart of this thing, the Call is a really catchy tune and definitely one visioned as being a crowd favourite with its strong, punchy and driven instrumentals, exciting guitar solos and a catchy chorus that’s bound to get stuck in your head. This could easily be the bands staple track for future and I look forward to seeing what releases Zero Zero offer next.

Words by Dylan Booker.
