Before taking a hiatus, MINISTER used to run events for upcoming hardcore artists from all over the UK at the New Cross Inn.
The nights went under the name R.O.M.A.N.C.E and opened the gates for a lot of bands to find a place to perform in London – without having to pay to play or bring a set number of people, which for some bands starting out can be a hindrance.
Since then the venue itself grew into one of the biggest small venues in London for new bands including international bands. Many have speculated the boost in the venues popularity being down to the R.O.M.A.N.C.E nights, that shined a light on the possibility that the venue could be more than just a student night venue.
Before MINISTER went on hiatus their EP ‘Basements’, was praised as an injection of new blood into the scene and many reviewers were left waiting to see what else was on the horizon.
