Death of Youth began in 2018 as a one man project of vocalist and guitarist Rob Horrocks, and was formed out of a desire to write music in a similar vein to bands such as Touche Amore, Departures, Casey, La Dispute etc. The end result of this was ‘Between Chapters’, a Melodic Hardcore EP exploring the aftermath of a personal tragedy.
Following unsuccessful attempts to turn the project into a full band, Rob teamed up with bassist Sahib Dhinsa to write and record the 2020 EP Suburban Dystopia, a slightly darker and more aggressive sounding EP that featured more social and political lyrics alongside the personal lyrics that were prevalent on the first EP. This release got a pretty positive reception and ended up getting a one off release on vinyl through Disillusioned Records and Engineer Records.
