The holidays are right around the corner, and New York-based pop-punk band Ronx is here to
spread some holiday cheer with the release of their new single, “Emo Christmas,” a song that’s
bound to become your next favorite pop-punk holiday classic.
“We had a love for pop-punk Christmas classics such as Blink 182’s “I Won’t Be Home For
Christmas” and Fall Out Boy’s “Yule Shoot Your Eye Out,” and wanted our own Christmas
anthem that’s emo, but uplifting,” bassist/vocalist Joshua Reguillo says about the track.
The song’s lyrics depict someone experiencing heartbreak around the holidays as the result of
breakup, yearning for that relationship to return, and navigating the feelings of loneliness and
heartache during that time of year. Musically, it shows off the band’s ever-evolving sound with
catchy melodies and instrumentals found throughout and a little bit of experimentation at the
end.
